Hurzeler to assess Promise David at Lancing training ground

Brighton are hoping to evaluate Promise David during training sessions as they return to their Lancing complex.

The player who joined during the week is not part of the European play-off tie against the Norwegian club.

However, he will be part of the squad preparing for the opening Premier League fixture against Aston Villa.

His temporary transfer provided supporters with optimism midweek, though this has been balanced by reports of potential exits and a goalless result in the first leg against Tromso.

Liverpool are understood to have made an offer for Yankuba Minteh, while Manchester United continue to monitor midfielder Carlos Baleba.

The failure to convert chances in the final third remains the primary worry for followers of the club.

Georginio Rutter led the line in Norway and, despite showing plenty of industry and evident drive, could not find the back of the net.

His most notable attempt arrived from range and required a good stop from Jakob Haugaard.

Charalampos Kostoulas was introduced to the forward role later on and directed a late effort over the bar.

Following the Tromso encounter, when questioned about deploying David, Hurzeler informed The Argus that the plan was to have him participate in the next pitch session and that integrating him was now the objective.

Hurzeler will hold his press conference at noon rather than his usual 9am Friday slot.
