Tromso top scorer Larsen hungry for goals against Albion

Tromso have been instructed to maintain confidence that they can produce a major upset in the Conference League play-off tie.

Heine Asen Larsen, the club’s leading goalscorer, has expressed Tromso’s eagerness to face Brighton in this two-legged encounter.

Larsen has found the net eight times in the Norwegian top flight and three times in European competition ahead of Thursday evening’s opening leg at the Romssa Arena, scheduled for a 6pm start (UK time).

Tromso enter this matchup having completed 17 league fixtures and four European matches, while Brighton are yet to begin their competitive campaign.

Larsen stated that it would clearly be highly challenging. He noted they are a quality side competing at the world’s highest level, featuring elite players, which would make the experience genuinely enjoyable.

Larsen increased his goal tally during Tromso’s 3-2 league defeat at Molde on Sunday.

Albion have advised supporters without match tickets to refrain from travelling to Tromso.

He continued by saying it represents an exciting challenge to embrace. He also stressed the importance of treating the fixture as any ordinary game without excessive analysis, while adopting the belief that victory is achievable.

The loss at Molde has created a concern for Tromso regarding first-choice goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard, who departed the field with a thigh problem.

Head coach Jorgen Vik will provide a squad update during a Wednesday press conference prior to Brighton’s arrival later that day.
